Goodnight Universe: A psychedelic journey through infancy

Skybound Games and Nice Dream, the Los Angeles-based studio founded by the creators of Before Your Eyes, have unveiled their latest narrative adventure game, “Goodnight Universe.” In this unique experience, players assume the role of Isaac, a six-month-old baby endowed with enigmatic psychic abilities. As Isaac, your desire for love and acceptance from your family clashes with the sinister intentions of a secretive tech corporation.

The game promises to immerse players in Isaac’s world through an innovative “face-tracking” mode, building upon the team’s pioneering use of camera-based technology. Described as a “spiritual follow-up” to Before Your Eyes, “Goodnight Universe” adds a science-fiction twist to its emotionally resonant storytelling. The Nice Dream team reunites with familiar faces from their previous project while introducing new talent to further enrich the studio’s creative endeavors.

Graham Parkes, co-founder of Nice Dream, expressed excitement about engaging players in emotionally compelling experiences that transcend traditional storytelling mediums. Skybound Games’ managing partner, Ian Howe, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the collaborative effort to deliver boundary-breaking gaming experiences that resonate with audiences on a profound level.

Stay tuned for more updates on “Goodnight Universe,” set to make its debut at the Tribeca Games Festival 2024 from June 12 to 16.
